So you would like to run a membership site. That sure is a great news. Membership site model is an established way to making money online .

But have you made a decision your membership site model yet? If not, don’t be concerned. I am going to cover all the 3 membership site models in this article.

First – why you should listen from me?

Because i have been running 3 online membership sites since 2007 and they make good cash for me every month. I have created my personal software platform to run my membership sites. I know within outside of this business. You can check out my membership sites at www.plrowner.com or www.littledumbguy.com

Back?

Ok, let’s get started..

There are ONLY 3 sorts of Membership Site Models :

The “Traditional” Membership Site Model :

In this membership financial model, you make a membership site where you provide some type of products ( content, training, resale rights products or plr products ) to your members inside a private member area, and your members pay you a fixed monthly / annual fee to access your content / products.

A normal membership site is an ideal way for you to form a “regular paycheck” for yourself. You simply set up a site that provides continuing worth for your members, and they pay you an one-time or a periodic fee for the service.

While you can do this manually , there are several computer applications that will manage your members for you.

I myself love the aggregate of

1. Joomla-Amember or
two. Drupal-Amember

The “Pay-Per-Access” Membership Site Model :

This idea is a killer, if you do it properly. The best example of such membership site is a video help files membership site. You offer your customers to pay per video to watch it on the internet.

typically, a user credit points kind of system is used for this concept. Person who wants to look at a video tutorial on your website will have to purchase a pre-defined number of credits for that video to watch it. Once the person has purchased the credits to watch a video, she can watch the same video any number of times in future, without needing to pay for the credits again.

In all cases, you would create a personal area where you would place the videos so that your members could view them. The pliability is great, which is one of the primary reasons to host a membership site.

And so long as you’re providing worth you should be in a position to make your members happy.

The “Fixed Term” Membership Site Model :

This is hot new idea emerging nowadays and it can be used even for the non-membership based business models.

In a “fixed term” membership model, your customers pay you a fixed weekly, monthly or quarterly fee to obtain access to your product like a newsletter.

This model defines a clear end date. For example, you can start a “fixed term” newsletter site where you send weekly or monthly newsletter issues to your customers for, let’s say, half a year and the subscription ends after half a year. Your customers would know a clear end date of their subscription.

The most important virtue of this membership model is a very high retention rate. And the main reason for a high retention rate is that your customers wouldn’t need to start their subscription from day one and pay again for the info that they have already received..

Yes, you have to set it up in a way such that if somebody cancels between, there is no way to rejoin at a later date and start receiving your ezine from the day where they left off.

That is it. There is no other membership site model. These three are proven to work. They all have worked well for me at some point or the other. So, pick any one and go for it.

And once you are ready, check out the membership software that I have created. This system allows you to run unlimited membership sites, or blogs, from one control panel. You will be pleased to learn the amazing features of this membership software .
